[REDWatch Central to Eveleigh] Info from UG on North Eveleigh workshop

Hi All

UrbanGrowth are about to undertake a consultation about the future shape of
North Eveleigh below you will find an email about the consultation and
attached you will find their latest Newsletter about this.

There will also be a daytime meeting on Thursday 5th November for Government
and Non government agencies from 9.30am to 10.30am - if you are an agency
and wish to attend this session please contact UrbanGrowth on 1800 756 953.

UrbanGrowth have reworked their website into the precincts they will be
using for future planning - this includes Redfern and Waterloo public
housing estates as well as the railway corridor. 

You can see the proposal they are consulting for North Eveleigh
http://www.centraltoeveleigh.com.au/precincts/north-eveleigh. The proposal
maintains ands slightly expands the park to the north of the suite and uses
the Clothing Store as community space. As a consequence the maximum heights
proposed go from 12 storeys to 20 storeys. This is two storey's higher than
the high rise opposite Redfern station.

I hope this information about this upcoming Central to Eveleigh consolation

Dear Geoff

Further to our chat on Saturday I wanted to provide some more information
about our upcoming community workshop that will focus on plans for North
Eveleigh.  At the workshop, we'll discuss how plans for this neighbourhood
can respond to the vision and key moves that we've adopted after consulting
widely on them earlier in the year.  

We are progressing the planning for North Eveleigh as a demonstration
precinct, partly in response to community requests to understand how the
vision and key moves will translate as development on the ground. As such
we're planning for North Eveleigh in parallel with ongoing work to prepare
the urban transformation strategy.  We expect both will be placed on public
display next year.  

The workshop will be supported by an online forum that will run until 20

We are distributing an update this week to letter boxes across the study
area (see attached) and will also be running adverts in local papers this
week and sending out an e-news update to promote the workshop and the online
forum. 

As an active community group with a demonstrated interest in the
transformation process, I encourage your members to get involved and ask for
your assistance to promote these consultation opportunities via your
networks.
