Dear Darlington and Surrounding People

Sydney University has developed Campus Improvement Program (CIP) 2014-2020
for Camperdown-Darlington Campus. This plan has gone on public exhibition
Until 28 February 2014 with the Department of Planning as a State
Significant Development with reference (SSD 13_6123). The CIP replaces the
earlier Campus 2020 Master Plan. The link address is:

23> &job_id=6123

The proposal is described as a "staged development application for
endorsement of The University of Sydney's Camperdown-Darlington Campus
Improvement Program 2014-2020. The CIP will result in an implementation
program and strategy that identifies, prioritises and stages the campus
development, infrastructure and access priorities over a 7 year period.
Consent is also sought for a range of land uses and precinct building
envelopes".

Developments proposed for Darlington in three precincts including Merewether
precinct including new buildings behind the Darlington Road Terraces, along
City Road and in the Shepherd Street precinct.

The Main Overview document is 2014-01-22 Stage 1 SSDA Campus Improvement

AL_Jan%202014_low%20res.pdf> (2.973 MB) This document is quite low
resolution and it is not possible to easily see what is proposed in some
overview illustrations. The documents on exhibition include greater detail.

REDWatch has earlier asked Sydney Uni to consult with the surrounding
community in the preparation of such plans but the University has decided to
only make their plans available to the community in their final form through
a short 1 month State Significant Development Exhibition.

Darlington residents are advised to carefully study the plans and send their
comments to the Department of Planning before February 28 2014.

It is important to note that this exhibition will lock in basic approval for
the elements of the Universities building plan over the next 7 years so if
you have any concerns this is when you need to voice those concerns to the
department of Planning and Infrastructure, Sydney University and your
neighbours.

Regards,

Geoff
