update -- Redfern Waterloo Issues Updates

About update
English (USA)

Redfern Waterloo Issue Updates are email updates started in 2003 by Lyn and Geoff Turnbull prior to REDWatch. Since this time they have gone out to a wide range of people with an interest in Redfern and Waterloo.

Producing the updates became almost a full time job which Lyn and Geoff could not keep up with and so during 2010 the updates ceased. In their place more specific emails were sent out to people known to have an interest in specific issues like heritage, public housing, Lemington Avenue etc.

Many people have said that they miss the old RWIUs so hopefully this list provides the opportunity for people to keep updated even if they will not receive the detailed digests previously provided by Geoff and Lyn. Other have preferred the information specifically targeted to them.

In combining these earlier email lists into this current list for 2011 REDWatch and Lyn and Geoff are hoping to be able to improve the way information is disseminated. This new list allows people to receive everything about the area (by default) or to only receive information which is in their selected topics.

These updates are not specifically to do with REDWatch activities - they are to do with the issues of the area. There are separate REDWatch Supporter and Member Emails for those who wish to be involved in REDWatch.

If you join one of the REDWatch specific lists you will also receive the Redfern Waterloo Issues Updates as this information is not resent through the REDWatch members and supporters email lists.

If you just want to receive the Redfern Waterloo Issue Updates you can subscribe through this page. This system will send you a test email and then subscribe you to the email list.

Those who are experienced with the use of RSS feeds may prefer to set up RSS feeds from the REDWatch website. The material in these emails will also be posted to the REDWatch website. Not all material posted to the REDWatch website will be covered in the email updates as we will only email on key events or issues to limit the amount of email you receive.

This is a self administering email list by using the link at the foot of each email. You can can set your own password and change your email address and topic settings. You can also choose to unsubscribe at any time.

We have created a range of "topics" to cover the spread of Redfern Waterloo issues. If you wish to only see emails that have information on your selected topics you can do so.

We have used three broad topic categories. The first Category covers the locations - the suburbs and key places. The second category covers the broad range of players. The third category covers a range of key issues. You can choose as many or as few as you like. If you wish to see all emails leave all choices unmarked - this is the default setting.

You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
