Community Meeting on Explorer Street Rezoning - Wednesday 8th November 7pm Alexandria Town Hall
The Department of Planning and Environment (DPE) has placed on exhibition a proposal to rezone the Explorer Street South Eveleigh public housing so that the existing public housing units can be replaced by up to 400units of which 30% will be social housing and 20% affordable housing.
REDWatch, along with neighbouring resident action groups - Alexandria Residents Action Group (ARAG) and Friends of Erskineville (FOE), will jointly hold a community meeting to understand the proposal, listen to community concerns, and help those needing support to write a submission.
DPE have been asked to present an overview of the proposal and to be available to answer questions.
The meeting will be at 7pm on this Wednesday 8th November at Alexandria Town Hall 73 Garden Street Alexandria.

Explorer Street Rezoning Exhibition Extended until 1 December
The Explorer Street South Eveleigh public housing rezoning proposal exhibition close has been extended from 17 November to 1 December 2023. The extension has resulted from some people close to the site not receiving notices.
